frogblue is now also certified according to the strict criteria of VDE. This is a clear sign towards the end customers but, above all, for everyone involved with operations for the installation. The association with its 125-year history represents independent quality inspections like no other institution.
Hardly any quality seal is considered as high as the VDE stamp for consumers and tradesmen alike. And rightly so as the German Technology Association (VDE) inspects and tests a product thoroughly. The experts at the VDE Institute inspected and tested the dimmer, among others, for electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). For this purpose, the product has been tested for various things, such as overload, short circuit and temperature. The experts agreed were convinced after the tests. The frogblue frogDim2-2 light dimmer had fulfilled all the safety aspects and was therefore awarded the VDE mark. Additional frogs such as frogDim1-3 and frogIn5-AC will follow as subsequent products.
This means that they have been inspected and tested for electrical, mechanical, thermal, toxic, radiological and other hazards and have been proved to be safe. This is another unbeatable argument in favour of the components which enable comprehensive Smart Home functionality via Bluetooth® LE.
“We are always delighted to award VDE marks to companies which strive to make their products safe,“ explained Dr. Dirk David Goldbeck, member of the Board of Management at the VDE Institute during the certificate handover ceremony at Light + Building 2018. “VDE certification was extremely important for us,” comments René Hinkel, CEO of frogblue TECHNOLOGY GmbH and continues to explain: “After all, this test is simply the only test in low-voltage technology. The VDE mark represents safety. The electrical installer and the consumer can therefore rely on this.“
